Plant your way to a bountiful harvest with our Broad Bean Aquadulce Seeds, a gardener's favourite for their exceptional hardiness and generous yield. With their impressive cold tolerance, this variety is perfectly suited for autumn or early spring sowing, these seeds produce vigorous plants that thrive in cool climates and deliver deliciously tender beans packed with flavour and nutrition.
Aquadulce beans grow pods containing 6-7 white beans per pod, with plants growing to around 90-100cm in height.
Each packet contains approximately 20 seeds.
SOW & HARVEST: Sow October – November for May or early summer Harvest
SOW & HARVEST: Alternatively, you can sow February – March for June to July Harvest
LIGHT: Choose a sheltered, sunny spot (with at least 6 hours of direct sunlight) to help them grow well and protect them from strong winds.
WATERING: Keep the soil consistently moist, water regularly, especially during flowering and pod formation. Ensure the soil is well-drained to avoid waterlogging; during dry spells, watering once or twice a week is usually sufficient (adjust based on local weather).
SOIL: Broad Bean Aquadulce thrives best in a rich, well-drained soil that's been amended with plenty of organic matter.
PLANT HEIGHT: Aquadulce Claudia broad beans generally grow to about 90–100 cm tall.
TOP TIP: When your seedlings start to grow, pinch the tops of the plants to prevent blackfly. For the most tender beans, harvest when the pods have reached 6cm in length.
DISH TO TRY: A fantastic dish to try is a Broad Bean and Mint Salad!
