Bring a sense of awe and beauty to your garden with our Giant Sunflower Seeds. These majestic sunflowers can reach impressive heights of up to 10 feet, making them a striking centrepiece in any outdoor space. With their vibrant golden-yellow petals and large, seed-filled centres, these sunflowers are perfect for creating a dramatic visual impact, attracting pollinators, and even producing edible seeds.

Sunflowers are also great for encouraging children to enjoy spending time in the garden, with growing competitions regularly being held in schools and communities. Sow outdoors from April – May once any risk of the last frost has passed. Flowers should be expected to appear between July and September. Plant seeds in a sunny, sheltered spot to ensure they grow to their full potential.

SOW: Sow seeds directly outdoors after the last frost—typically in mid to late spring (around April to early May, depending on your local climate). In cooler regions, you can start seeds indoors 2–3 weeks before transplanting them outside.

LIGHT: Sunflowers thrive in full sun—ensure they receive at least 8 hours of direct sunlight daily for optimal growth and large, vibrant blooms.

WATERING: Keep the soil consistently moist by watering lightly every 2–3 days until seedlings emerge (usually within 7–10 days). Once established, water deeply about once a week. Increase frequency during hot, dry spells, but avoid overwatering to prevent root rot.

SOIL: Plant in a fertile, well-draining sandy-loam or loamy soil enriched with organic matter such as compost.

PLANT SIZE: Giant Yellow Sunflowers typically grow tall—under ideal conditions, they can reach heights of about 2.5 to 3.5 meters (8 to 11.5 feet) with large, robust flower heads.

TOP TIP: To ensure Sunflowers grow nice and straight, stake flowers and tie to a garden cane to start with and then replace with something more substantial. Tomato feed can also be used as plant feed.
