Grow lush, aromatic parsley with our Italian Giant Leaf Parsley Seeds, a superior variety known for its large, flat leaves and robust flavour. Perfect for home gardeners and culinary enthusiasts, this high-yield herb thrives in garden beds, pots, or windowsills. Italian Giant Leaf Parsley is a versatile kitchen staple for any keen cook, ideal for garnishes, soups, sauces, and salads.
More tolerant to heat than curly parsley, the Italian Giant Leaf variety grows well in full sun, but benefits from afternoon shade in climates that have long, hot summers.
Each packet contains approximately 100 seeds.
SOW: Sow seeds directly outdoors once the danger of frost has passed (typically early spring, around March–April), or start them indoors 6–8 weeks before transplanting. Note: Parsley germinates slowly, so a bit of patience is needed.
HARVEST: Begin harvesting once the plants are well established—usually about 70–90 days after sowing. You can snip individual leaves as needed, which encourages further growth.
LIGHT: Italian Giant Leaf Parsley thrives in full sun (at least 6 hours of direct sunlight daily). In very hot climates, some light afternoon shade can help prevent the leaves from wilting.
WATERING: Keep the soil consistently moist (but not waterlogged) to support steady growth. Water regularly—typically about once a week, adjusting during hot, dry spells to maintain even moisture.
SOIL: Plant in a rich, well-draining, loamy or sandy-loam soil enriched with plenty of organic matter (such as compost or well-rotted manure).
PLANT SIZE: Mature plants typically grow to about 30–45 cm tall and form dense clumps with large, glossy leaves—ideal for generous use in cooking.
TOP TIP: Although not picky about its soil, parsley does require a lot of attention to ensure it does not become overly wet.
DISH TO TRY: Italian Giant Leaf Parsley Pesto – delicious!
