Brighten your garden with minimal effort using our Throw to Grow Summer Picking Flower seeds. This carefully selected mix of vibrant summer-blooming flowers is designed to provide an abundant array of blooms that are perfect for cutting and displaying indoors in beautiful arrangements. Simply scatter the seeds and enjoy a garden bursting with colour and life. These flowers attract pollinators like bees and butterflies, making them both beautiful and beneficial for your outdoor space.
Throw to Grow seeds are best sown between the end of April to beginning of June, they grow best when the soil is sufficiently warm and moist for the seeds to germinate well. Ideal for new gardeners and experts alike, these seeds require significantly less maintenance than bedding flowers with fertilisers and pest control not necessary and a low water demand.
This seed mix not only beautifies your garden with a vibrant array of blooms but also plays a crucial role in supporting biodiversity. By attracting helpful insects, it naturally balances your garden’s ecosystem, reduces pests, and boosts pollination for healthier plants. It’s a win-win for gardeners who value sustainability and organic practices.
SOW: Sow these annual seeds outdoors once the danger of frost has passed—typically in mid to late April (depending on your local climate). Scatter the seeds directly into a prepared seed bed or container, as many summer annuals establish quickly.
LIGHT: Choose a location that receives at least 6–8 hours of direct sunlight daily. Full sun ensures vigorous growth and abundant, colourful blooms ideal for cut flowers.
WATERING: Initially water gently every 2–3 days initially, keeping the topsoil evenly moist until the seeds germinate. Once established, water deeply about once or twice a week, depending on weather conditions. Aim to keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged to prevent root rot.
SOIL: Use a fertile, well-draining loamy or sandy-loam soil enriched with organic matter (like compost). Good drainage is essential; the soil should be loose enough to allow the roots to develop fully.
PLANT SIZE: Depending on the varieties in the mix, these summer picking flowers typically grow to between 30–60 cm tall. They produce generous, showy blooms that are ideal for summer bouquets and floral arrangements.
